Quiet....I'm thinking.

I've done very little programming for a while.  My head has departed from the: "what can I do with the controllers that exist," to the : "how can I make the control surface that I really want".  I'm very happy with the software tools I've created, but I don't wish to write anything further until I've decided exactly what I need to incorporate into a final version of Monomodular to support what I have in mind for a "all-inclusive" grid controller.

What does that mean, exactly?  Well, let's just say this:  it hasn't been done yet.  When I've got a working prototype, I'll post more details.

In the meantime, I'll be trying to navigate back to older versions of Monomodular to add some stability to them , as well as adding a few new features and fixes to the Ohm64 scripts.

Coincidentally, as I'm writing this I've just received a box in the mail from Mouser...now the fun begins :)

  2. Hehe....can't tell you or I'll have to kill you ;)

Basically, some sensors and an Arduino...the end goal is to build a button that is daisy-chainable, capable of rgb display, endless rotary, velocity and pressure sensitivity. So far I've been able to accomplish this for less than 3$. Its mostly about the mechanics at this point. I've figured out 3 different ways to do it, and I'm experimenting with which way works best for the cost per component (there will be 64 of them, of course). Stay tuned :)

  4. hey, i think ur plugins are brilliant! Theyre the only ones that work directly in live with a launcpad or an ipad. believe me, i tried all the other ones (monolive etc) and none of them work. In other plugins there is always loads of feedback when moving from app to app. I think this is because all the other modular plugin sets make heavy use of autofocus, which is not that great IMO and buggy at best.

Only things I could wish for is an explanation of NOMEOUT (cant work out how to use it, it just shuts off all midi from the plugin) and also a tutorial for each plugin, that would help a lot!

Kudos to you my friend for an amazing suite of plugins!

  5. Hehe....I think your the first person that's asked me about Nomeout. It's something that's indispensable for me, but not widely used.

Nomeout allows you to route your MIDI signal out of the plugin to the IAC bus or external MIDI port. You must have the midiOut vst installed in order for it to work (its in the package). You set the port in the main plugin. Instead of being routed internally to Live, your data is being sent to the port chosen there. There should be an explanation in the readme, I'll double check.

I'd like to spend more time on tutorials, but I barely have the time to code lol. Big changes are in the pipeline for the next full beta release, keep an eye out. After I finish some changes, I'll be focusing on making some videos, etc. to help people out. In the meantime, feel free to send me an email and I can help you out.

Thanks for the kind words, I'm always glad when others get something from my work as well :)
